Samuel Randolph Becomes 187th Person Exonerated from Death Row


On April 6th, 2022, Samuel Randolph became the 187th person to be exonerated from a wrongful conviction and death sentence in the United States. Mr. Randolph maintained his innocence during his 20 years wrongfully incarcerated, stating, "I didn't do this. Innocence people don't plead guilty as bad as I want to go home." After the U.S. Supreme Court declined to review the county prosecutors' appeal of a federal court ruling granting Mr. Randolph a new trial, DA Fran Chardo filed a motion terminating the prosecution of Mr. Randolph.
