Ohio Death Row Exoneree Kwame Ajamu Shared His Story at Akron NAACP Meeting
Ohio native Kwame Ajamu was only 17 years old when he was wrongfully convicted and sentenced to die for a crime he didn't commit. Last week at an NAACP meeting in Akron, Ohio, Kwame shared his story saying, "The system is completely broken in every way." Kwame spent 28 years wrongfully incarcerated and had to wait another 11 after being released before he was exonerated. Kwame is sharing his story to mobilize Ohioans to abolish the death penalty.
