Juan Melendez Gets a New Smile
Last Saturday, the Smile Generation provided free dental care to patients in need all over the country as a part of their annual Smile Generation Serve Day. Among the patients served this year were Special Olympic athletes, single parents, and death row exoneree, Juan Melendez.
Juan explained that he was never given proper dental care while in prison and has not been able to fix his teeth since his exoneration in 2002. The generosity of the dental professionals that served him meant a lot to him after being mistreated by so many people in his life.
